Inherited from John Afendras (1897-1976) a Greek-born classically trained violinist who led a varied career in San Francisco musical circles as a musician, conductor and performer, DionysiaTrust maintains in its possession a collection of 30,000 33, 45 and 78 RPM leather bound recordings intact and in pristine condition.
It is the ambition of the organisation to make available this rare and unusual music library for the enjoyment and edification of young musicians.
DionysiaTrust has donated its archival collection of materials including photographs, letters, diaries and personal effects to the Afendras Collection of the Museum of Performance + Design, San Francisco, CA.
